That is approximately how long it has been since I bought a CD. I really hadn't heard anything that compelled me to buy one. I listened to the radio, shoutcast stations, etc. But when I heard Trivium (Ascendency the song actually) I just had to go get that album, got the special edition one. Just wanted to post and let the guys know how much I appreciate their music and that they have re-awakend the desire for music in me. In fact, at 34, I have decided to fulfill a lifelong dream that pretty much waned in this time to learn to play the guitar. I am learning on my wifes old Strat, and when I am sure I am going to stick with it, I am going to get a new Dean (ML Noir XT is the one I have my eye on).
I can't wait for the new album in October. Thanks again for the great music guys!

It's never too late to start playing guitar
I have a Dean ML Noir XT myself and I can easily say it's one of the best guitars I've ever played on, it's worth like twice as much as it costs IMO

I was in a similar situation except it was a over a year ago when Ascendancy first came out. I almost lost faith in metal. Metallica didn't really play metal anymore and there was nothing out there that was in the same calibre as classic Metallica. There were a few bands that had a song or 2 that were good but nothing like Trivium. Trivium's songwriting is just CONSISTENTLY good, much like early metallica. Ascendancy has like 12 songs and I love all but maybe 1 song. There are VERY few albums where I can say I love 95% of the songs on the album, I can only think of 5 albums like that at the moment. I too am dying to hear The Crusade and I will be buying it the first day it comes out then going to their headlining show the day after that...can't fuckin wait!
