QUOTE(Madden)My girlfriends cat is always bringing animals into the house, but never eats them. Birds, rats, mice. The cat hides them behind cookers and stuff. Last time, the rat came around again and ran around the house for a good while.

nah, normally, when a cat brings you sumit its killed, its generally meant as a gift to you. summit lke that anyway. i always give my cats fuss when they bring me a half chewed carcass of a pidgeon. then throw it over a fence when they dont look.

I heard that a cat considers its owner to be like its child and bringing back a half dead animal is its way of training you - it expects you to finish it off, and therefore learn to kill.
