An 80s Trivium - as dark, technical and powerful as before?

I am fully aware that for the crusade, trivium are going back to 80s style metal, and the songs are going to be largely influenced by a range of bands from this time. From the songs i have heard so far, this is definately not a bad thing, but i was wondering if there are going to be any songs at all, that will sound very modern and very technical, like say like light to the flies off Ascendancy, or falling to grey off ETI. Or have trivium decided to make a shift from 21st century metal genres and go totally back to 'classic metal' throughout their new album? Will there be any dark songs like My hatred or is that something the band have had to move forward of for the new sound?

Lol.. There's been loads of threads about this dude. Trivium aren't going anywhere but forward making METAL that they enjoy creating and listening to, and hope everyone else enjoys as well. They aren't aiming for anything other than metal, and are doing their best to shed the metalcore tag people gave them. You've only heard bits and pieces of this and that track, don't create an opinion on it til you've heard it all.

The song The Crusade is by far the most ambitious song we have done.
