I assume that was all in the name of "fun" and not really insulting him? Because.. you know.. he deserves to be told "fuck you" for his comment about Gorguts. Grrrrr

Fuck, I really to scan the quote in question. He basically said Roadrunner dropped them because they werent that special.
Gorguts are one of the most innovative and greatest bands ever. Plus, RR have turned their backs on DM so thats really uncool too. RR only re-release certain classic albums for more money.
Actually, I can write down the quote right now.. took a photo on my phone
"I signed some bands that maybe shouldnt have been signed. But soon we pretty much decided to get rid of the bands we didnt feel had a future - bands like Gorguts and Sorrow, who should have never really been signed, and Immolation, who at the time took 4 years to write a record. We got rid of those bands but we kept Obituary and Deicide, because they were such important bands for the label at the time and really helped break the label. Maybe at the time we realised these bands were never going to be any bigger but at the same time they were workhorses for the label and we made a profit on them and so forth, and it's like how can you drop those bands? It was really important, because if we had dropped all the death metal bands, there would have been an identity crisis."
So there you have it, the man doesnt give a shit about DM. Just sales. And identity crisis, yeah, look at RR back then and look at them now. Wouldnt think they are the same!

I'm surprised RR hasn't signed more mainstream bands, they seem to really be in it for the money these days.

They got Nickleback. Thats as mainstream as it gets
Btw, I added the Monty Connor paragraph where he digs his grave! Up above.

They're currently in dispute with the singer from Dresden Dolls because they wanted to edit out a scene in her new video because her belly was "too fat" which is a load of bollocks if you ask me. Aside from the fact she looks perfectly normal (and actually quite attractive) to me, they're meant to be an anti-establishment rock/metal label for fuck's sake!
