big bands have a wider audience and even though downloading can still take a big chunk of their income, they have the market to bring in massive amounts of money regardless.
local, unsigned bands need every penny they can get, whereas the bigger bands often dont have to worry that much about money.

Sure, these bands probably did get hell for a few weeks because of this guy, but shit happens. The music industry is a dog eat dog world, and I don't think it's wrong to say that there's a whole list of screw-overs and money loss thanks cunts like this fraud, other than this topic stated.
By all means, I wish the bands all the best to receive their money back, but there's a lot more unfortunate incidents that are far from publicised.
