I'm thinking of buying a bass so I can add bass to my band's tracks, I can play bass but I have no idea about what to get, my price limit is 150GBP.

not sure wut price range 150 GBP is but the Ibanez SR300DX is my favorite for the price

It almost plays like a guitar cuz of the nice neck and the action it has.
plus the active pick ups gives it a great round sound that i personally love.

Ibanez do make some really nice basses.
Yamaha actually have a few nice decent and cheap basses out.
Cort basses are nice also.
I would suggest going to a music store and just play a shitload of basses until you find one that your comfortable with in both feel, playing-ness (Shhh) and price.

Thanks, some great reviews on the Ibanez, what do you guys know about cheap 5 string basses? This is well within my price range & has the same stuff as the other one, just 5 string.

I can't think of or find many 5 string basses for less than £199, but a good website to look on is www.guitarampkeyboard.com. They are cheaper than most places and i have never had any problems with stuff i have brought from them.
The only one i can find that is within your price range is the peavey milestone 5 at £139, i have never played one so i dont know what theyre like but peavey are usually a pretty good make.
Stagg make some nice looking 5 strings but the cheapest i can find is £159
Hope this helps a little bit
