Anyone got any tips on building a guitar? Because me and a friend are building a guitar each soon. Or are there any parts that you would recommend?

I wouldn't advise it, unless your really sure about what you want doing. Otherwise, you could end up wasting a lot of money, or end up with a horrible guitar.

Take yourself there and see the guitars he makes. Beautiful.

I made one about 3 years ago.I bought a kit just to see if I liked the whole process or not.It was fine, but the kit was very low end and the guitar sucks.I also helped a friend build a stratocaster from scratch, and it's pretty decent.Sounds great, but the neck is slightly warped around headstock, making the string to neck alignment anything but perfect which in the end makes the thing go out of tune all the time.
Be advised,it's alot of money to make one from scratch, and I would not suggest even trying without a pro carpenter with you(my friends father is a pro and has a shop full of tools). There are lots of tools and equipment you will need that are not common household tools.
I suggest using

get Melvin Hiscock's book "How To Build Your Own Electric Guitar". i got that when i built my guitar and it was invaluable.
