Cannibal Corpse

It all sounds a lot like Kill to me. It'll no doubt be good, but I probably won't bother with it.
And yeah, the artwork is a bit shite but it's not so bad. Personally I found their more cartoon style covers to be just a bit crap to be honest. Like The Wretched Spawn cover - it may be nice and brutal, but I find the quality of it to be shite personally- its like a kid's drawing. All be it a rather fucked up kid, but a kid nonetheless . At least these zombies are drawn well.

Haha it sounds a bit like Kill but not fully. Well i dunno yet. I cant get into Kill, it feels over produced? at times. I cant explain. Kill just bored me a bit to be honest. This didnt make me feel like that but i havent heard the whole thing yet...

I know what you're saying and I do agree, to a certain extent.. For me though, the gnarly covers like Tomb of the Mutilated and Butchered at Birth are what initially got me into the band. Along with the song titles and the fucked up lyrics/imagery. Yep, the music was, and still is (to be honest) secondary to me. (I'm not the biggest Cannibal Corpse fan at all)
Like I said though, I know what you're saying about the style of those older covers. They're not to everyone's taste, (not because of the subject matter, but because of the style of artwork) but they symbolise Cannibal Corpse to me. I know the band have been around a long time, and are maturing.. And maybe even trying to detach themselves from the older imagery? I dunno, I doubt that to be honest, as I know they're all very into what they do, and are huge death metal guys.. I just feel new Cannibal Corpse is a bit week. I was let down when I read the titles for the new album.
I don't know though, maybe I shouldn't expect Tomb of the Mutilated: Part II every time they release an album.

Oh, the Butchered at Birth cover is my favorite album cover out there! I love the water-colour brutality of it (I have the LP on my desk this very moment ). Those early covers are as good as it gets, I just don't like the stuff that was done post Vile. The colouring on covers like Gore Obsessed or The Wretched Spawn is flat to me. There's so much more detail and effort put into finishing the Butchered at Birth cover than the Wretched Spawn one.

QUOTEAlex Webster comments, "For Evisceration Plague we enlisted legendary gore/horror artist Vincent Locke, who has done artwork for all of our releases. He did two pieces for us this time, a dark and foreboding cover piece, and a violent and gory piece for the interior of the CD packaging. Vince has shown once again that he is a master of capturing a macabre and eerie vibe with his artwork."
Its just a cover up thing like on Slayers most recent...

Except this time the BRUTAL ARTWORK MAN.. is an incentive to buy it
Until someone puts it on the Internet. Bugger.
I dont need second telling to get this on day of release. Question is... Can I wait till day of release to listen to it fully FIRST TIME?
Even though I got the samples put on me iPod.
The production so far sounds like KILL PART 2. Which aint a bad thing, it's cool they've found a style to expand upon. I wonder if Pat's once again doing the majority of solos. Rob has said soloing aint really his thing, he perfers rhythm!
I hope George uses his lows (like Chris did in the day and the ones he uses when they play older songs like Gutted or Covered with Sores) a bit more like he showed on The End of the Hour (Paths of Possession, damn them two albums are amazing, EOTH and Promises in Blood )
I can't wait!
