Concerns about the future...

We obviously know Wikipedia isn't a reliable source however on Matt's Wikipedia page it says "Heafy confesses that his next project would be to start a black metal band, but not for some time." Does this worry anyone else? I was hoping Trivium were in it for the long run. I wouldn't mind as much if Trivium later on decided to approach black metal, but Trivium is my favorite band... Discuss!

I'm sure that if that were the case, it would be as a side project and not instead of Trivium. All the guys have put immense amounts of effort into getting where they are today, and that's not something they'd just give up.

They are in it for the long run, its just a project he wanted to do and he wanted to do it ages ago and it never happened.

Trivium are in it for the long run.. and like Storm said, if Matt does decide to pursue his interest in black metal, it will more than certain be a side project.
EDIT - Yeah, the sinister minister beat me.

That's a relief , side projects are welcomed in my eyes. MD.45 with Megadeth's one and only Dave Mustine comes to mind when I think of an added extra piece to my music library.

That was said a while back, during the Ascendancy days I do believe. If/when the time comes I'm sure Trivium will come first.

Matt said that he wanted to do some new songs but with different genres.
He said he wanted to do more songs like "Head On Collision With A Rose Bush Catching Fire" which was emo/punk.
I think he said the next song would be a black metal one.

They are apperently gonna make a new album. 3rd Capharnuam album should be the best. The first album was amazing, second...the vocals were a bit off putting in places, but Matt can do gutterals well so itd be good i assume.

Anyone ever hear anything from matt's first attempt at black metal? he wasn't the vocalist but was involved with mindscar where he did backing vocals... the band was mindscar just wondering if anyone heard about them?
