The video was longer, it had more of a storyline to it, whereas the final version is just the band playing in various locations in the house
I'm pretty sure it opened with a highshot of a car pulling upto a large house at night and it turning out that a man and woman enter the house, eventually with the man becoming "evil" or not as nice as the woman thought and the whole event becoming quite a nightmare for the woman
There used to be a thread dedicated to this version a while back but it seems it has been lost to the forum past as I cant seem to find the website the video was put on anywhere

wait for it all to load, probably GWAR will start playing, then select "music videos" and scroll down about 3/4 of the way and you will find the extended video for like light to the flies between God Forbid and Fear Factory
QUOTE(trivium.org at the time of filming)01/27/04 - Hi everyone - we are back from New York and the video shoot was great!!! We are now working with David Brodsky of MyGoodEye editing the video, when we complete the editing and have the master we will let you know our plans to unleash the beast m/
Be sure to check out the New York Video Shoot Link on the pictures page to see some of the pictures we took. We want to thank MKH and Mike Viso for all the pictures. We have also added some pictures from our January 10th show at The Station, which was a great time, 3rd Limb, Pain Principle & 5 Billion Dead were awesome.
We would like to wish Matt a Happy Birthday - he is finally 18 and now that he's legal he can vote, join the marines and whatever else - he just started college in January - so between school & Trivium he is keeping nice and busy. Happy 18th and congratulations Matt. m/
The video shoot is now history and it was an excellent experience - Dale, Kim and the rest of the Raging Nation Films crew really went above and beyond to ensure we got the most from this process, it was truly a pleasure to work with Dale, Kim and the rest of the team - they were very professional, they did everything they said they would do and then some, everyone was friendly and most of all they were eager to produce for us the best video possible. We appreciate it and hope to work with you again in the future. On a side note Dale & Co. also just finished videos for Roadrunners The Dirty Americans, Island/Universals Fall Out Boy, Trust Kills Most Precious Blood and are off to Australia in Feb to shoot a brand new video for Fear Factory and their hot new acclaimed single "Cyber Waste"! Fear Factory made a last minute decision to go with Dale when they saw some dailies form the Trivium video! m/
We have a lot of people to thank starting with Fuse TV's (IMX host) Dennis Da Menace for his support and his evil/ acting in the video. The lovely and talented actress/model and Shauna Bari, Joe Trapani, Ibriham Œham' Yella), Cliff Charles, Sara Bricker, Lynette Stone, Drew Pratha, Rich Barbadillo and Jenn Michael and all the crew.
We chose "Like Light To The Files" as the song for the music video. We made an "edited" version - we took the original, which was 5:11 and condensed it to 3:55 we are really happy with what we have seen so far. The video was shot on Super 35MM film, the best there is and the film they shoot major Hollywood films with and Dale and his team did a lot of "movie magic" with regard to the lighting and effects. We are really excited and look forward to seeing the final cut.
