I don't like Melodic death in general.
But there are some great bands like old school Children Of Bodom, and In Flames's Lunar Strain. And maybe a bit of Garden Of Shadows.

QUOTE(carcass255 @ Mar 3 2007, 06:31 PM) lol i just dont like varg coz
a) he stabbed euroymus like 39 times and said it was self defence
b)he was a member of neo-nazi/racist groups
I just didnt like that photo of him. Thats why i called him a sick cunt.. because he looks like one..
I dont disagree with what he has done or think hes a terrible person. Not that im a racist or anything, its just to me he is a musician. Im not really arsed about his private life.. Although the whole Norwegian Black Metal scene is/was extreamly interesting.

I would have to agree with you, again, Amanda.

Hmm, well ive been listeing to Melodic Death for about 4 years now, and i still love it as much as when i first heard Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquility, Children Of Bodom, Daylight Dies, Hypocrisy and what not.

yeh i agree, you get 12 yr olds into stuff like bodom and in flames but they usually find the good stuff shortly after that.

In my opinion Lunar Strain is the best thing melo death has ever got.

QUOTE(simon_hate @ Mar 11 2007, 01:47 PM) 12 year olds or not, both of those bands old stuff fucking pwned. But yeah... CoB have attracted ALOT of dumbass fucking 12year olds since AYDY came out.... seriously don't go to the CoB forums. All it is now is threads like 'AMG what braclts does alexi wear, where can i buyz alexis wristbands from, how do i play guitar like alexi'. It's fucking shocking now. I've never seen so many people trying to be like someone else in my whole life.
Of course AE sounds similar to Carcass, it's Michael Amott's old band!. I only find new In Flames boring, I still think the older stuff is still awesome. But yeah haven't heard too much 'recent' melodeath stuff that's came out recently that's really blown my socks off like the older stuff, I thought Amon's new album was ok, and I start listening to this band last week called The Absence that's about it really, oh and I'm hanging out for DT's new album of course
I'm actually started to get a bit more into death metal, I never really gave it a chance. I've recently discovered Necrophagist and I think they fucking rock! Muhammad is a awesome player. And I got ahold of Cannibal Corpse's Vile but I havent gave it a proper listen yet. Can anyone recommend me some death metal that's similar to Necrophagist and CC that I might like?
Spawn of Possession.. I'd reconmend them to anyone whose a fan of Necrophagist and Cannibal Corpse.
(Cannibal Corpse Vile is the best album George did vocals on.. Gallery of Suicide is also quite awesome!)
I love melodic death. In Flames are nowhere the best or most entertaining but they are still great. Best melodeath for me is Garden of Shadows , Vehemence and Dark Tranquility.
The other day I heard a song, thought it was Arch Enemy, then realised it was a Carcass song from Heartwork album (Buried Dreams)
