DANZIG
- Formed in 1987 after Rick Rubin scouted vocalist Glenn Danzig(Original Misfits, Samhain, Danzig) at a Samhain gig in hopes of creating a hard rock supergroup.
- The name Samhain was then changed to Danzig, after adding John Christ and ex-Black Flag and DOA drummer Chuck Biscuits, while keeping Samhain bassist and Glenn Danzig's good friend Eerie Von.
- The original line-up consisted of the previously mentioned members and recorded a total of 4 albums before the departure of drummer Chuck Biscuits over drug problems and royalty disagreements, guitarist John Christ after hearing Glenn Danzig was actively seeking a new guitar player and finally Bassist Eerie Von over various disagreements.
- After many line-up changes 4 more records were eventually released, and one more is on the way.
Notable songs:
Danzig I
-Twist of cain, Mother, She Rides, Soul on fire
Danzig II: Lucifuge

What the fuck is going on in the Music Discussion section? Is it like.. Everyone decide to make topics about random bands stating facts? At least this one has tour dates..

haha i saw someone bitching about that coheed one and someoen saying how they werent even doing anything right now...
so i thought i'd post some info on my favorite band, and it's not completely random.
i'm pretty sure all the dudes from trivium are into danzig and the misfits(i've seen most if not all of them in a misfits or danzig shirt before), and matt dressed up as doyle(old guitarist of the misfits) for halloween one year
danzig has his possible last tour coming up
danzig has his possible last album coming up
and danzig is a great under-rated hard rock band that most metal guys could probably get into, i thought i'd post a topic about them with some info and such.

How the Gods Kill was the last great Danzig album. IV was simply boring, and Blackacidevil sounded like a poor man's Nine Inch Nails. They regained some form with the sixth album, but blew it with the seventh, which sounded like the devil's lounge music to me.
Of course, you gotta love Danzig videos... like this one, for instance..

i agree that the first 3 were the best, but after listening to 4p alot more... it's grown on me
especially the song going down to die, that song belongs on II or III in my opinion
yeah... blackacidevil was no good, 6 was pretty cool, i loved 7 and 8 was heavy as fuck.

I'm a loooooong time Misfits fan, always loved them. I like the 'Danzig' stuff I've heard too.. Good singer.
Anyone else thinks he sounds like Jim Morrison at times?
