I recently purchased Matt Heafy's ML Dean and absolutely love it...One question I do have is:

Do any Dean ML 7 string guitars exist? I really am quite eager to get one. The ML necks fit my hand pretty damn well and yes i understand that 7 string necks are wider but really do ANY 7 string ML's exist? at all???

i know they used to sell them , may have been discontinued now though

no they never made the 7-string reverse paint job that matt used... that was a one-off and it broke :-(

they were the Dean ML X7's they were imports and cost around £500, apparently they were too good

You can order a custom made 7 string ML from Dean. Expect to pay a pretty penny though. I'm currently in the process of ordering a Razorback V 7, and it's gonna cost quite a lot.

But as mentioned above, Dean did make a 7 string MLX, meaning it was pure shit. It had crappy wood, a terrible neck carve, and just an overall terrible guitar. Dean really can't make bolt-on necks to save their lives (with the exception being USA made guitars). If you're that desperate for a 7 string ML, you could keep an eye out for one on eBay, they generally go for $200-$250 used.

Cheers guys! Yeah cos the heafy ml is the most comfortable neck I've played and its got great access. Doesn't seem to be any 7 strings out there that would suite my hands haha I got tiny hands but long fingers. Thinking about a custom jackson kv2 7 string or even an esp v 7 but I would want a rough outline of the price cos yeah I don't think neck through custom 7 strings are cheap by any company.....

its $200 it has the thinnest 7 string neck I've EVER seen, it has a Floyd Rose Tremelo, 24 frets. I actually prefer it over my Dean ML and Jackson King V. Its one of the best guitars I've EVER played and its cheap as hell too.

Your best bet is a Razorback 7 string, I'm pretty sure those are either discontinued or never made
