Death Magnetic Vs. Shogun
September 28, 2008 1:24:25 PM UTC Post #21

In my opinion they are way different styles of metal. And I haven't heard Shogun yet, but to be honest I can't decide. Cause the way I look at it, as, I don't even compare albums of the same band to each other. Each is it's own entity. If you get what I mean. They are made to stand alone by themselves, and to be taken at that. Not compared to another album let alone like Metallica V Trivium. That argument, no matter how you put it, is being really over blown in my opinion.
Even if the thread starter didn't mean it in terms of that, but they are two different bands. Two different albums, two different periods of their career, two different genres of metal, two different fanbases (Usually). No competition, no battle

Yeah, Shogun's got this BIG atmosphere, while Death Magnetic sounds kind of raw.
