Decapitated news

posted as a bulletin by vogg on the bands myspace
"I would like to take the time to inform everyone interested in knowing about the status of the band. As you probably know, I have been pretty quiet about the whereabouts of the band and the future and I’d like to inform you that we are on indefinite hiatus for now. I feel that it is too early to continue or try to continue without Vitek and/or Covan at this particular moment.
"Regarding Covan. He's recovering now and needs all the time in the world to comeback to a normal life. So I want to wait for him, so we could both decide what the future will hold for DECAPITATED.
"I definitely want to keep on playing and touring as it's very important for me to keep on playing music. While we have this break with DECAPITATED, I'd like to mention that I'm open to explore options regarding joining or touring as a session player. Given the seriousness of the project, I could work on dedicating as much time as possible to it.
"I also want to express my respect for everyone who has supported the families of Vitek and Covan on any kind of way since the accident.
"Thank you so much!"

Decapitated will always be remembered as one of the best Death Metal bands ever.
Vogg is an exceptional guitarist, it's positive to know that he will find some outlet to share his talents with us still despite the unfortunate events.

Yeah, that's pretty much the news I was expecting... continuing as Decapitated isn't an option for them at the moment. I'm sure they will reconvene in some form in the future, but it's still a long way off.

Thats not bad news as of now. You never know what may happen. I have a feeling they will be back.

To be honest we pretty much knew the majority of that already . It's not really news.
Nice to have a thread we can post all Decapitated related progress in though.

I read an interview with Vogg a while back (I can't remember where unfortunately, possibly smn news but I'm really not sure) that said it may take Covan 2 or 3 years to recover fully. I wish him all the best, I met him a couple of times and, though it's an oft-used cliche, he really is one of the nicest guys in metal.

I met Covan and Vogg also Prof when they came to Adelaide on the Decapitated/Nile show. They really were such nice blokes, took the time out to have a good chat with you and everything. I still have a signed Decap sticker with Covan, Martin and Vogg on it...but no Vitek sadly. I did get his drumstick and a setlist from the show though - so atleast I have something.
It was the news I was expecting, however its not all together bad news. He doesnt shut the door on a return, he's just giving Covan his due time to get himself right before they work out what to do with the band.
They'd worked hard to make a name for themselves, im sure when they are ready - theyll be back with a vengeance.
RIP Vitek.

That sucks. Hopefully they'll come back stronger in the future. They were such a promising young DM band.
