Different Opinion

I been reading a lot of good reviews about The Crusade, but I think they've sold out. They've picked up Dimebag sig. guitars and stoped screaming to sound like Metallica. I thought Ascendancy was a masterpiece and I'm a big Metallica fan, but they don't even sound like good Metallica on the new album, they sound like Garage Days Re-Visited Metallica. I'm not sure why they made it big with a screaming album then deceided to change there style completely, but I'm not impressed. Does any one else feel this way?

Exactly, which is why they should stop trying to be them. but what i meant was they sound like a crappy version of Metallica.

Dude, seriously...
I respect your opinion for not liking them but please, we've heard this from about 500 other people aswell and it's starting to get a little old....so just stop comparing them to Metallica because you can only get one answer...and most will agree that they're sick of hearing this fucking bullshit.
Trivium are Trivium (Influenced by Metallica)

ok, but I do want to say that I am a pretty big fan, there amazing musicans and i've liked all there stuff until this. I'm comparing them to Metallica because they don't normally sound like them. Trivium is Trivium but there new album isn't.

If the new album isn't Trivium then how can you tell that it's Matt Heafy when you hear any of their new songs? e.g their melodic choruses.

You can tell it's them but it's not there style. Listen to Pull Harder then listen to Becoming The Dragon.

They simply changed for the best. Listen to the songs on Ember To Inferno and Ascendancy then listen to some other metal bands who have that style of screaming....you'll see it sounds very similar and their are loads of bands like that....
Many bands take new directions and the fans aren't happy with the outcome....but i am pleased to say that most of the feedback for The Crusade has been positive.
If you listen to it more you'll realise that they've adapted that style into their own music....if you don't see that after a few listens then i don't know what to say.

how about everyone stops waisting their time making these pointless "they sound like metallica, they sold out, blah blah blah" threads. because for 1 they're all the same, and 2 to be honest no one really cares if you don't like the album. if you don't like it.. stop listening to it?
I understand where these people are comming from, i didn't like it when i first heard it, just because i thought it was completely different from ETI and ascendancy, but like voice of deception said, if you listen to it enough and let it grow on you, it's a damn good album. one word: technicality.
