Some strong rumours over at the Download Forums that they guys will be playing this year. Hope so, cos it's looking to be a great line-up, much better than 2008! Can see them headlining the second stage, or if Metallica are playing (which is also likely),  sub headliners to them.

TBH Download isn't a 'metal' festival, most people think it is due to the large number of metal bands that play there, but it mainly a rock festival. The line up is looking good for this year (compared to last year!). I love going, it's a great atmosphere and camping is great. That and the fact I can't afford to go to places like Wacken, but DL is nicely within my price range!

How much does the tickets cost?

Tickets will be around the £170 mark which is for the weekend plus camping, and £150 without camping. There might also be day tickets available if you just wanna go on the day Trivium are playing and they will cost around £70.

PS if there are any TW'ers going gimme a shout cos if I go I might end up going on my own and will be on the lookout for peeps to camp with!  :D

I wouldn't say I hate a festival because of the bands that appear may not be 'Metal'. If they followed that rule then the same handful of bands would appear there year on year and then it'd just be boring and predictable.
Download is definetly on my 'to go to at somepoint' list. But I guess I'll be giving it a miss this year because its going to be slap bang in the middle of my A-Level exams..
