It's sad to say for me but I'm pretty sure Trivium has lost a fan in me. I couldn't even listen to the song the whole way through the first time it was so bad. I'm sorry but this cd is probably going to be one of the worst albums to follow up a great cd in my eyes. I just don't get how you could drop off that badly in sound and overall musicianship. Everything sounds just so flat. It's sad because a year ago if you woudl've told me I was going to intentionally miss a Trivium show on my birthday the next year I wouldn't have believed it.

I can see you're a KsE fan... not happy they aint metalcore any more?
and by the way.. it's too early to judge the quality of the sound just yet. Most of these rips that are uploaded are from radio stations/websites. Wait till you hear the CD.. the sound production is fucking amazing.
I know.. Ive heard it with my own ears!

They aren't losing musicianship. It's actually much more impressive. (See The Crusade) I'm glad Trivium decided to go in a new direction making better music and ditching nub fans like you.

QUOTE(zags2344)This song took a total of one listen before I decided that its my favorite trivium song of all time.  Its better than Anthem and Detonation... but the crusade and like light to flies give it a run for its money.
half the song for me

i can see where youre coming from. ascendancy and ember were more aggressive and thrashy. usually when a band does this i would say SELLOUTS, but i dont think they're selling out because the new shit is still brutal but in a different way, and i just think it sounds badass.

I assure you the last two CDs aren't as thrashy as the new album. Especially the riffs.
