QUOTE(Christhammer @ Oct 30 2008, 01:28 PM) It's very much the url I meant, look at the band logo on "their" t-shirts.
Frank Zappa?

Hmm.. seems they've finally changed it. No, they used to have this:

Look closely and it says "Party Shank" but it's clearly Darkthrone's logo.

That's beyond wearing a band shirt, that's ripping off their logo and making it something retarded.

Man, that took me ages to find....just before you posted it too, what a waste of time Seriously though, they're never the type of band that would take a support slot for a metal band surely?
In that case I really don't mind them using metal logos - I might even do a similar thing if I were making some other type of music, you know as a small thing in a nod to what I really like. I suspect they don't like metal, but I couldn't care. But if they sell them, that's completely different and definitely not acceptable.
I do care about that 'Famous' scene brand of clothing (bfmv always seem to wear their stuff) as they have shirts with the Famous logo ripping off the Master of Puppets cover and the Mayhem logo.

They don't look like the type that like metal, but you never know.

You never know with some of the promoters these days...
There is a serious point though. I've no problem with people discovering 'new' music etc but just to illustrate what I mean I've seen Amon Amarth (a fairly melodic take on death metal for sure) so many times now that I've actually lost count of how many times I've seen them. When I first started seeing them it was always a great old-school metal show, lines of people headbanging (and singing along) with pint in hand and all that good stuff.
The last couple of times I've seen them though there's been a noticeable change in the audience. The venues are now filled with people who only know one or two songs and when they're played they come alive and largely do "ironic moshing" for them. For the rest of the set they seem more intent on having (plastic) swordfights with each other rather than what the band are actually playing! Fair enough if that's what they want to do I suppose... but do it at the back of the venue and not right in front of the stage and blocking people who actually want to see the fucking band!
Meh, maybe I'm just being a grumpy old sod but what's wrong with just going to gigs of bands you like and if/when they play a song you don't know either headbanging to it if you like it or going to the bar for another pint?!

This is why I've yet to see Trivium live, all the shows I've been to in my area would have the same people from the previous shows, not even knowing who the damn bands is, moshing to the slowest fucking song, I could just imagine a Trivium show, I doubt I'd even get to watch it with all the jackasses "throwing down".
