"Becoming The Dragon" is about Japanese culture/horoscope/legend in which, if a koi fish swims up a waterfall, it turns into a dragon.

precisely. according to japanese legend, there is a point along the yellow river called dragon gate. nishikigoi is another name for koi. if the koi has the endurance to reach dragon gate, it transforms to a dragon. some places where you look it up, the legend symbolizes the ability to aspire, progress, and achieve, etc etc. matt really likes japanese stories and legends

Thanks Frigid.
I didn't know the stories behind the songs till now. Except for Sadness and the Ideas behind Ignition and Detionation.
Unrepentant etc. were all major blanks.

This just makes The Crusade even more badass in my eyes. 8)

But Matt said in Kerrang that The Crusade as a track was meant to get people thinking.
I think the fact It fades makes it sound like the song just goes forever, they could have given it a Dying in your Arms style end, but who wants to see the end of Trivium? Fuck that.
8) Bring on the next album. hahaha.
This one will keep me occupied for however long required, it kicked the shit out of Ascendancy.
I'm good to wait even as far as Twice as long for whatever feindish creation they come out with next. 8)
But hell, I like how Trivium is a fast writing band.
There's only so long you can put off a next album, or spend writing it ... people are gonna go insane at the end of the day. D;
