You don't need a floyd.
You can play harmonics on fretted notes. just gently lay your pinky on the string as you play it. takes practice. Or make your thumb gently touch the string as you play the note

harmonics were the first thing i learned, they're like the staple diet of every metal guitarist

Because your question contains no substance whatsoever, and also hints that you know nearly nothing about guitar.

All guitarists couldn't play guitar at some point, give the guy a chance.

You're completely right about that, but I asked a real musician first (not to say you guys aren't I just mean I asked them in person) and from there did some research to find my answer. It's inevitable that he's going to be harassed, especially by Glenn, because he hates everything
Most people have the sense to use valuable resources around them, rather than asking a bunch of people they don't even know.
Now that I know what you're talking about, there are several kinds of "squeelies." There are the ones you see by trivium, obviously using the whammy bar, and there a several other kinds, that you mentioned not using the whammy bar. What Trivium are doing, is either natural harmonics or pinch harmonics, but they're just using the whammy bar to change the pitch and make it sound like a dying animal. Which is very cool.
In order to do a natural harmonic, your guitar plays a pretty big role. If it's not set up correctly, getting the nice high pitched screams can be a bit of a problem. You can still do them easily, though. Anyway ... place your finger directly above the fret, lightly pressing down on the string so that you're not pressing it down against the fret or fretboard. You can do it on just about every fret, but they really ring out on 3,5, 7, 12, 19, and 24.
Doing the other, more common, harmonic is a bit harder and requires a lot more practice. The sound of a guitar is based on the vibrations the strings make, and the frequency at which the pickups pick up those vibrations. Doing a pinch harmonic shortens those vibrations making a high pitched squeel as you like to call it. In order to do these you have to pick a note, but at the same time strike the string with the thumb holding your pick. Do a google search or something on pinch harmonics and you'll find more information. Maybe you can even find an instructional video on youtube.

I've already written a 2000 word report tonight, why not go further?
