this is driving me insane....
I know matt not uses black jazz 3's but what are the blue ones that matt used over the period of ascendancy? i cant fidn them anywhere..... are the standard tortex dunlop? or are they smaller

I found tortex pics to be way to big. S'all about the gator grip.
And if you wanna sound like they do you'll need a lot of cash. Les Paul Customs and top-end Jacksons dont come cheap, and lets not forget their pedals and backline....

Man this kid is really obsessed about trying to sound like Ascendancy. Ah well he'll grow out of it in a few years.

they are really dedicated
its not like people are going to copy people forever
players have plenty of time to produce their own shit

Hell yea, Jazz IIIs are nice.
But damn, man, stop trying to copy Matt. Come up with some of your on tastes!

Well I use .96 Dunlop 'gator grips' which are awesome for metal and are a kinda blue-purple colour - could be them?

April 29, 2007 2:37:41 PM UTC Post #10

I think they were the tortex standard - blue - 1.0mm ones, i've been looking for pictures, but they all seem to be the black custom ones... but i've seen him using the blue ones for deffo!
EDIT:
Here you can kind of see them in the pick-holder on the back of his headstock...
