I think that's unarguable, haha. Corey always has been big into that kinda stuff.

So does Matt inhale scream? I thought that was the only way you could injure your throat?

But still, Trivium kick so much ass!

Although not anything to do with Harsh vocals but I'd actually like to see Matt doing some more falsetto Rob "The Metal God" Halford style vocals, ever since hearing him doing it on the tail end of their Iron Maiden cover I thought it was not bad, with a little bit of work I think it'd be a nice touch to the Trivium sound. But hey thats just me ^^"

What metal band these days doesn't scream? Half of the screaming bands out there cant even scream good or growl AND cant even sing that well. Matt has an amazing scream and I think he should do what he wants with it. He is an amazing singer too and he has amazing talent.

He's been slowly finding his range as far as all that goes which I'm pretty excited about. He does them live here and there but not too often. I'd really like him to hear it on the next album.

Not on the DVD but on the site, Paolo lists Sepultra and Death in his favourite bands list. So he clearly likes death metal. They all like pantera, Matt likes black metal and Corey is really into death metal. And what CC DVD was this? I might get it if I find out.

Matt doesn't inhale. You can injure your throat both ways if not done correctly. Also, inhaling is essentially cheating and sounds shit.

Matt"s put a hell of a lot of work into perfecting his singing voice.. he's even spent time with operatic style vocalists to get some tips. He just doesn't want to do anything to permanently damage his voice. I talked to him after a show in Buffalo last month. He was horribly sick with tonsillitis, but doesn't want to get his tonsils out because it could completely change his voice.
I love the screams, but have to respect him for at least trying to take it easy and for them being able to evolve as a band and take their music in different directions.

Indeed, Lydia makes a very valid point.

Matts vocal style obviously changed from Ascendancy, you can see the results on Shogun, he still screams quite loud, but the tonal range is different, I assume he found a different way to project his voice to cause less damage, I know that in the studio he does his vocals for all the harsh parts on a different day from the more melodic ones. And Corey backs him up quite a bit live to relax the strain on his voice. (and does a pretty damn good job of it too!)

Matt does something very unique with his voice, and needs to take measures to not destroy said voice.
