Weird, alot of the stuff they talked about, What metalheads went through like bad family issues and whatnot, has happened to me throughout my life, just weird, but pretty cool as well.

So we're gonna end up "cool as well as clever", eh... damn right. Hehehe

Now that article was a bit better written, some nice use of allusions and metaphors.

QUOTE(Jaysin @ Mar 23 2007, 10:29 AM) Rap is an insect which must be squashed quickly.
if anything has caused more violence in the world, it's Rap.
Hahaha.
I wouldn't really take this as a positive announcement. Sure we're smart, but I don't listen to my music to "comfort myself from the world".

I've always seen Metal as a Positive thing, even when the only Metal bands I knew were Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park. All genres of music will have negative aspects, but they'll all have positive aspects.

Hah, a thinking mans metal band i imagine would be something like Dream Theater, Nevermore, or some other progressive stuff.
Anyway, this one of the few articles that portrays metal in a positive way, Which is a good thing to see when its getting blamed for kids commiting suicide at times (The Case with Priest back in the late 80's early 90's)

I read this article in the newspaper.
About a year ago I did a class talk about Metal not being the mindless noise that people think it is. I said that many Metal bands are intelligent. It's s shame that this atricle didn't appear a couple of years ago.
I saw something similar to this on Blabbermouth the other day and it said that "teenagers who listen to Thrash and Death Metal bands like Slipknot and Slayer..." then some stuff. But Slipknot are hardly an intelligent person's band though. (This just after Metallica being labled the "thinking man's Metal band.")

A brilliant article! I think it's sad how metal in general are being portrayed by the media. I win't say that metal is the only style of music listened to by intelligent people, because, obviously there's intelligent people listening to rap, techno, pop and whatever, but I think a lot of smart people listen to metal - that's what I've experienced anyway.

Next to something like Metal Maniacs or something, i dont think any publication will get A true Perception of What metal really is, the only people who know what metal really is, are the fans, and since when do people listen to the kids everyone thinks worship satan?
Atleast where i live, thats how it is.
