HELP PLEASE! A Question About the Dream Theater + Trivium Tour.

Wow. I feel REALLY dumb now.

What is queuing? I bought the most expensive tickets on Ticketmaster, so that we would have good seats. Do seats even matter at these types of concerts? Ahh, I'm so confused.

I thought if we got there when doors opened, we could just go in. But according to you and your expertise, I'm guessing it doesn't work that way. Hmmm...

@kay123:

Queing is when you wait outside the Venue for doors to open. But as you have booked seats, you will be fine. Just get there one hour before doors open...Maybe you should contact the venue, they will know the stage times.

Hey guys, this is my first post here so forgive me if i sound like a total newb lol. This thread already cleared up some of the questions I've had for this tour. Just wondering if anyone here has been to one of the shows so far for this tour? I saw Dream Theater last year when they were supporting Iron Maiden and they played great. DT is a tamer band I'm just curious about the shows with Trivium supporting them. Are the crowds more mellow on this tour since they're playing in venues with fixed seating. I don't really know how a mosh pit could break out at one of these shows given the limited space and the fact the seats are bolted in place. I bought tickets for the show in Vancouver for my fiance and I, this will be my first time seeing Trivium live. I've listened to them casually over the past few years and they have gotten considerable air time on my ipod but since In Waves came out a little while ago I can't get enough of this band. They're almost exclusively the only band I listen to now. Needless to say I'm beyond excited for my first live Trivium experience!

The tour starts on Saturday. Hm good question.. I've heard that seats are bolted in some of the venues.. I'm sure there will be pits in the odd venue... I don't know the layout of the venues in the US. but yeah, I would like to think theres gonna be alot of folk attending mainly to see Trivum.. who like to get abit "wild". Trivium live aren't a band who force the crowd to hurt each other.. "headbutt each other, I want BLOOD!!" ha. People will be jumping up and down having a good time, maybe a nice we circle pit here and there... Matt is great with the crowd, always looking out for everyone. Always nice to hear that you're listening to Trivium more, welcome to the fold. Enjoy the show ;-)

I just wanted to say thank you guys for all of your help! (:

The concert was amazing, and my boyfriend was SO surprised by it all! (: Trivium performed for probably 40-45 minutes, and our seats were very close to the stage (well worth the money). Although most people were there to see Dream Theater, I could spot out the scattered Trivium fans here and there.

The night was a great success. Hopefully, my boyfriend will remember it for a long, long time. (:

Oh, and we left the Dream Theater concert early, and guess who was just wandering around outside the venue? Nick Augusto, the drummer! (: Needless to say, my boyfriend was very excited, and he got a picture with Nick to top the night off. Seeing him so happy made me happy. (: So thanks again!

Now, I'm off to plan out my next surprise...

Thanks @_AvR! I wish they we're playing Shogun too :S Oh well, I'll just have to make sure to get to see Trivium when they come to town to headline a show. Looks like a great set list though.

The big day for Vancouver is finally here! So stoked for tonight!

How was the show? I will be going to the October 25th show in Houston and can't wait to see Trivium. I bet they were awesome!

Sorry for such a late response, Jakalou!

The show was amazing! I'm not sure what kind of venue the October 25th show will be in, but the Nokia Theater has assigned seating. Therefore, nothing got out of hand or crazy or mosh pit-ish (that could be a pro or con for you). Because Trivium was the opener for Dream Theater, the audience was a bit lame when Trivium was on. I'm not even the biggest fan, but Trivium was so much more interactive with the audience than Dream Theater was (and Trivium was a lot better too...in my opinion). (: They played for about 40-45 minutes, and started right on time at 8:00 pm. So, I guess you should get there and be seated before the start time.

I honestly hope that the October 25th show has more Trivium fans and/or more fans willing to listen and give Trivium a shot. Also, I guess Dream Theater fans tend to be a bit older, so they aren't really bundles of energy, to say the least. I think that is what I was most disappointed about. Trivium was trying so hard to get everybody to stand up and get into the music, but the Dream Theater fans weren't having any of it. Lame...

Oh, and random piece of information, but their merchandise tables sold shirts for $35 (I bought one for my boyfriend). Combine that with parking, and your wallet will be very empty...

I'm not sure though. Is the October 25th show 'Dream Theater with Trivium,' or is Trivium headlining their own show? I'm sure that will affect your experience. I have pictures and video if you'd like to get a feel for it! (: Let me know. Again, sorry this was such a late response. If you have any other questions or anything I can help you with, don't hesitate to ask. (: Either way, you'll have a BLAST!!! Bring your camera and prepare your ears. Haha. (:
