How could I be so stupid!

I live in New Zealand and in early 2007 I went to Big Day Out festival to see (and I'm ashamed to say this) My Chemical Romance who I liked at the time.I got there mid morning and found the stage they were going to be playing on. Theres two stages beside each other. The left was where I wanted to be the right had some random metal band playing who turned out to be TRIVIUM! I didn't really know who they were nor had I heard their music but I stood and half watched nodding my head in approval. I was thinking these guys are pretty rad! but sadly I wasnt paying full attention so I practically missed the whole thing. After that day I decided to buy their cd (the crusade) and I was like "Fuck these guys are the shit!" and now I can't believe I wasted my only chance to see them live and I'm soo gutted!!!!
And I doubt theyll be back to visit NZ any time soon
By the way I'm new so "Hey hows it goin?"

^^Wow thats so kewl.I was not in the mcr mosh pit but in behind the second barracade at the front and I had such a good view.Yea I watched em on tv and they said there was just shit loads of people at their signing.I would think that stuff like that would be quite overwhelming. All the more reason to do a show here!
By the way I just read your BDO thing on your profile.I so wish I had liked them back them.It sounded like a great show.Oh well seeing them in person is not a bad way to discover a band though

"Machine Head and Maiden who are coming in Feb" - is MH supporting Maiden or are you referring to the Slipknot/MH concert? I'd love to see MH again, opening for Iron Maiden - that'd be fucking wicked. Well worth the $170 I had to cough up for a fucking ticket! lol.
Right i guess i didnt make that to clear ha, i was reffering to machine head when they came over with slipknot.
The support for the iron maiden concert wont get announced till like a few weeks before the concert. But you got your ticket already? nice. i still needa get mine and flights.

I dont like mcr anymore but it was still fun at the time.I heard about the signing on like c4 BDO coverage.Sounded like a long fucking line lol So you met them then?
The mosh pit looked pretty rough.I remember Matt telling everyone to "pick you fucking circle" and everyone was jst going nuts in like 2 circles.I jst saw them like do that swinging head in a circle while playing thing and I was jst like woah! I mean it was the first metal band I'd eva actually seen live.I remember thinking they sounded real good even though I didnt know their music and I remember a bit of the anthem.Everything else is a lost memory unfortunately.
I wont quote you but I'll keep my fingers crossed
Maybe I will do that one time. The fly to Oz to see them thing I mean.I'm sure it would have been worth it.Who needs to stay there comfortably when your seeing Trivium lol
I think we all walked past a few people that day But I wouldn't be surprised! haha.
I have to admit, I'm still a huge fan of MCR and went to their concert in December (??) at Vector. Cos I went to the Trivium signing I was late for MCR and had to stand like right at the back... at the far end of the rugby field and I could hardly see and the sound was shit. But it was cool, haha.
I was pretty lucky at the signing, joined the queue reasonably early but fuck man, it got LONG!! It ended up going in front of one of the side stages lol. They reckoned Trivium had more people lining up than there was in front of some of the stages. And they were really sweet! I was so shy, I couldn't say anything. They were rushing us through real quick. Matt was at the end and I forgot to give him my sheet to sign, and he was like, 'do you want me to sign that too?'. Awwww

Damn man you got my hopes up lol! They'd better have a decent international band as support, if it's some shitty local I will be PISSED. And so will a lot of other people. Too many bands do that when they come here. Bon Jovi did it... Just The Valves for support, a Christchurch band. Bon Jovi played for 2 hours though, so it was worth it. 30,000 people there. That's about how many Mt Smart ought to hold for Iron Maiden, I THINK.
And yeah I got my ticket through the Visa presale (I love presales. This concert is gonna sell out fast!). It's $150 for Diamond (general admission) and then it was an extra $20 for 'presale fees'. Funny thing is, I never had to pay a fee for the presale for Bon Jovi...
But, that's life! And Bruce has a big ass jet to fuel up

Life's a grave... dig it!

Hey, don't be ashamed... the only bands I went to see at BDO were Trivium and MCR! *hides head in hands*. And I hate to rub salt in wounds, but that was a killer show by them too... that was one hell of a mosh, the most violent I've ever been in. They also did a signing which was awesome of them, even if you did have to buy something from Sounds to be able to get in .
And from what I've heard they'll be back next year... possibly April/May? Don't quote me on that though, that's just from hints.
Welcome btw

Welcome, Dude Gutard that you missed trivium, cause no descent metal bands ever come to new zealand.... well except for machine head and maiden who are comming in feb.
And i rekon the only you could see trivium live, well again, even if they do a world tour would be to fly over to aus and go see em.
Anyway Welcome. NZ represent.

Yeah, I did that when Trivium played the one off show in Sydney a few months back. I got my flights on airpoints (but still had to pay $300 in tax, free my ass!) and just stayed in a hostel. I did it on a tiny budget cos I wasn't earning much at the time. Worth it, though
I think normally flights to Sydney and back from Auckland are roughly $600-700.
