How To hold a pick

Plus, holding a pick is one of my biggest problems at the moment. I can't play some licks as fast as I need to with the way I hold my pick, and I'm trying ot get around that. I feel you there. I held my pick "wrong" for almost 3 years, and then a really experienced guitarist I know told me I was holding it wrong and corrected me. I improved so much after that, but it felt really awkward for the first few weeks.

But I try to hold it almost parrallel to the string, because you do get a much harder sound Macks I don't find that. Maybe that is the case with you. I'm not arguing either, just stating it's an interesting point; what works for some doesn't for others. basically restating the fact that its all donw to what feels goood.
