Its a Respect issue

I rarely ever buy CDs that I haven't heard first, if I do, it will most likely be cuz a friend recommended it, strongly. lol. To me, buying a CD without hearing it is like entrusting a band and record label to release good material consistantly, some bands you can count on, others you shouldn't be so certain about.
Any album I listen to more than once through, I typically end up buying. I respect Trivium a whole fuckload, and I don't see downloading a leak as disrespect, because I will be anxiously waiting at the doors of my local music store for it to open and to go grab my copy of the album.
I have friends who don't buy albums at all, I give them a fuckload of shit for it too, but when an album leaks it's like release day to them. Pretty lame. Everyone has difference views on the matter really.

im too big of a fan to not download the leak first thing
and then buy the album it self of course when offically released

meh,for me it doesn't have anything to do w/ respect.i haven't downloaded it,but it has nothing to do w/ that.i intend to get 3 copies of the album. as for whoever said that it's better to know if you like it before you buy it,that's true, but i'm sure that you can here samples of each song on amazon just as well. in defence of those who downloaded it though,i'm pretty sure they are all going to buy it anyway.maybe they'll get the images in the lyrics booklet tattooed on or something.whatever.

My downloading the album before it's released I don't think is an act of disrespect towards Trivium. I think it would if you downloaded it, loved it, and didn't buy the cd afterwards. If I download an album at all and I like it I will go out and buy it. If I don't like it then I just delete it and not worry about it.
Downloading and deleting or downloading then buying is just the equivilant of borrowing a cd from a friend to try out a new band. That's my view on it.
I don't see my actions as disrespect because I know for a fact I will be there the day The Crusade is released to buy it and I will also see them when they come to Houston, Texas and end up buying a tshirt or two. So I'm still supporting Trivium and all that they do

I won a copy of the Crusade from the Street Team and I'll get that before the regular copy is even out by a couple weeks so that's cool. I've had the album downloaded and I don't feel bad at all. I buy merch sometimes, go to all the Trivium shows in my area (and bring friends that wouldn't have been there if not for me), and turn other people on to the band.
But like the dude said, I'm too big of a fan to wait.

i couldnt wait. im a huge fan, and just knowing i could get it before it comes out was torture.

I downloaded it. I like it. I'm gonna buy it. At least twice. (Gotta get the double vinyl!) I've also convinced my mate (who has only downloaded Ember and Ascendancy) to actually buy the CD on release day!
