In the March edition of Total Guitar, Trivium feature with a cover story along side BFMV discussing the new as of yet untitled album, and the 2008 battle for best guitar album of the year
Questions Asked:

"What sound were you going for on your new, as yet untitled album?"
"Any idea of a title yet?"
"How does the guitar playing compare to your previous releases?"
"What gear did you use on the new album?"
"What, in you opinion makes for a great guitar album?"
"Do you think your album will be the best guitar album of '08?"
"Finally, who do you think will be your main competition for guitar album of '08?"

... Also included pictures and information on the new signature pickups from dean, and some close up shots of both Matt and Corey's new Axes hitting TG's number 1 guitar of the year at Namm as they couldn't second either of these beasts

haha, OBV Trivium will win, and in my opinion their only Main contendor is Metallicas new album, even then hmm i thnk Trivium have the upper hand.
But like Trivium said, its not about competing, it's about making the best music they possibly can for US the fans, and for themselves.
