He doesn't listen to metal anymore?
That's new to me.
From his Bio:
The Black Mages, Miles Davis, Coltrane, Angra, Martyr,
Kelly Clarkson, The Devil Makes Three, Machine Head, Evanescence
So what if he likes Jazz? Miles Davis and John Coltrane are some of the greatest artists in the history of music. A lot of metal musicians have an influence from jazz and blues. Angra, Martyr, Black Mages, Machine Head, and some Evanescence is awesome.

i sed he doesnt seem too
and i agree with what u say but im more questioning why the change?
not criticising it... tho the music is due to like keeping it fresh cos he is playing metal nearly every night of every year
but like he does dress very different... and why has this OCD and social anxiety come out recently and he never mentioned it before
i just wundered thought ppl wud want to discuss it

Because people change, and musical tastes change.I haven't listened to anything metal for about a week and it's very relieving to take a break from that and explore other genres.I,personally, can only listen to black metal in small portions.Maby he has moved on from that stage in his life.Something EVERY person does.
Just because he's been wearing American Apparel t-shirts instead of all black metal shirts is his choice.I've been wearing AP shirts for years, almost everyday, and it's great. They don't stretch or en-large after wearing them for 4 days straight. He still has the black metal shirts, but maby he doesn't want to wear them anymore.Honestly, who cares?
Also, telling people about OCD and social anxiety is his private life.It was never required for him to come out and tell people that. That should not be a personal problem for fans,so why discuss it?The way I've been seeing him act in interviews,he is acting much more lifelike and loosening up.He seems like the same old Matt to me.

was criticised about it

True, what I meant by my statement is he's developed in good ways from who he was when the band took off with Ascendancy. I don't think people realize how much you're exposed to, and what you have to deal with being a musician, as well as a young man entering his twenties.
Sure he doesn't were all the ultra tr00 black metal shirts anymore, but it doesn't mean he's closed his mind to the music. He listens to just about everything I can think of, and always finding new stuff. I talk music with him when I catch them on tour and he's always got something good to show me, as well as talk about crazy extreme music and all that.
I don't think people realize that the guys want Trivium to be HUGE, they want to bring metal back to the spotlight, they want mainstream music to have talent again like it did in the 80's and early 90's. To do that you have to have a fairly universal appeal, yet still keep to your roots. The "we want to be the next metallica" talk isn't talking about Matt's vocals like every other person thinks, they want to do stadium tours, they want to headline festivals, they want to be still doing what their doing in 15, 20 years.
Sure you CAN do that wearing black metal shirts along the way, but you have to realize that it's probably best not to with how people are towards music like that. People see emperor, dark throne, etc and immediately associate whoever with blasphemy, satanism, and all that crap.
