So how many and which songs does he use his scream in still?

Not really.
Like asphyx said, there's hundreds of metalcore bands out there that sound pretty much the same as what Trivium did on ETI and to a lesser extent Ascendancy.
The change has been good for me cos ever since I heard em I'd been hoping they'd cut out the screaming

You've missed my point...

So bands like Bleeding Through aren't metalcore?

Trivium wasn't a metalcore band... it was THE metalcore band.

Some of the new songs sound better without screaming, like Rain, Like light to the flies and Suffocating Sight. But pull harder doesnt have the same power as it used to but its still good.

I don't to be honest. There's loads of other bands doing the metalcore thing, Trivium don't wanna be a part of that. I don't know how many times I've heard Matt say and have read in interviews that if you're bent over no more screaming, go check out the thousands of other bands doing it.

That all?

You kinda have to feel sorry for all the people bitching about the vocals as though their opinion actually influences what the band is going to do

QUOTE(Metallized @ May 4 2007, 08:19 AM) Maby he just wanted to try something different ..... But if that really is the case then that is a darn shame. The screaming was the best thing about his vocals i think.....
Well that's your opinion, other people hate the music with the screaming, and love the crusade. The band as a whole didn't want the screaming anymore and it was taking a toll on Matt's throat.
QUOTE(Venom @ May 4 2007, 12:18 PM) yea, but New trivium has been dubbed as "alternate metal"
They've also been dubbed thrash metal, thrash-core, heavy metal, and hardcore as well as metalcore.

QUOTE(Grumma @ Apr 30 2007, 01:58 PM) It's possible to have aggression without screaming eg Slayer
It's also possibly to have power without screaming eg Manowar
Yeah that's true. BUT Is Trivium even close to the genre Slayer or Manowar play? No! And different styles have different kinds of power.
Basicly I'd say that the old Trivium was kinda metalcore and the aggression in that comes pretty strongly from the screaming
