More solos, more progressive and more aggresive - new album direction (opinions)!.....

What are your guys thoughts the next album should sound like ? - ember was raw, ascendency was aggresive and crusade was technical with some progressive elements - my opionion is the next album - every song should be full off solos and duals and bass solos plus progressive elements whilst keeping that screaming (and death growling - like a bit of wot matt does in capharnaum track 5) and (some) singing. Songs that sound like becoming the dragon, detonation, the crusade, deceived, departure, declaration - those are me fav trivium tracks. Love how dragon and detonation they can chuck in 3-4 solos in under 5 minutes, and there is a progressive edge as well - great songs. also love how corey writes solos in more a shred manner and matt more a bluesy metal feel. oh, and longer solos please. just love them

For how much you talk up Carcass, I find them highly disappointing.

Like alot of people are saying... Trivium can not becoming as big or bigger then Metallica without hitting a mainstream audiance. Metallica appeal to loads of diffrent people with diffrent genre tasteds.

How old are you? Maybe when you're older you may end up liking them
No offence intended whatsoever.

i agree with fugue that i dont think trivium will ever be as big as metallica, maybe as big as megadeth. the songs need more acoustic interludes, dual harmonies, proper non distorted classical shit. more variety of riffs, 3 minute solos, more solo trade offs, less dime squeals. i still love all trivium albums but i think they could improve in alot of areas, but then that could be said of all bands, except carcass.

QUOTE(metallicamatty @ Nov 8 2007, 12:46 AM) Are people forgetting that Metallica released a little masterpeice named .. And Justice For All? That was way more progressive and heavy as the first 3, but at the same time also a step towards mainstream.
And Trivium are even showing signs, And Sadness Will Sear, This World Can't Tear Us Apart..
I don't know, it just seems like a massive case of Deja Vu
I disagree. Metallica were pretty much an underground thrash band innovating away from the rest of metal (hair metal, power metal and all that rubbish) at the time for their first few albums. It took a good decade for them to become the kind of leaders of the metal scene, Trivium however are playing mainstream metal (as in the most popular kind of metal around, not mainstream as in radio, pop, etc) and they're still a young band. I know they were unknown for a time, and - like Metallica - they made their best music during this period - but I really can't see them following Metallica's path at all. I see Trivium just staying at the top of the current metal scene for however long it lasts. I can't see them out-growing and out-surviving it in the way Metallica did. They're just not innovative enough, but I'm not saying that's a bad thing, and I am very ready to be proved wrong by their next album.

It can in Trivium.

QUOTEQUOTEIt is their best album.

...After Ride the Lightning, of course
And Kill 'em All / No Life 'till Leather - come on Dave Mustaine in Metallica was just the best thing that ever happened.
Them falling out is proof that there is no god.
(though Ride is probably my favorite)

I really want to hear Corey sing a whole song maybe 2. I'd love it if paolo joint matt on vocals for one of trivium softer songs or even fo it by himself.

Screaming aside I fail to see how Ascendancy was anymore aggressive than The Crusade.
And as long as it sounds like Trivium I'll buy it
