so i was wondering, do any of you lot go to a music college or are u doing a music course or anything? im at the "brighton institute of modern music" and i started this week. so far my teachers are: mel Cs drummer (lol but hes good!), some huge tattooed guy whose phenominally fast n loves heavy metal, Jake Shillingford who was in the band My Life Story ages ago n who apparently had several top 40 hits and im yet to meet the others. i've had a lesson breaking down a led zeppelin song and adpating and changing it, a lesson learning warm up methods etc, a lesson about the origins of rock n roll and a lesson learning a lenny kravitz song so we can play it along with the bassists and guitarists in the concorde 2 (realli well known venue in brighton) 2mrw and learn how to paly well in front of an audience etc etc. basically it fucking rules and its the onli time i've ever really looked forward to lessons. all my teachers are legends and have had chart success etc and i get to paly music n learn about music all week every week. anyone do anything like this?

(shit thread i know)

i went to Newcastle College and did a HND in music production and mastering. i got taught by Kevin Ridley who is the current lead singer of Skyclad, Martin Mcaloon who played bass for Prefab Sprout (lol), Keith Nicholl, who produced several of Venom's albums (not a great advertisement, i know) and Micky Sweeney who produced a few Lindisfarne albums

They are musicians. What do you expect?
well, we are on a higher plain than most other people, mortals if you will. we have no need for this spelling devilry. a good musician never writes anything down

BIMM is a really good place to go, several bands have passed through there who have made a name for themselves
Getting to play the C2 regularly too is a pretty good thing too!
Good luck guys
