Pretty awsome.

They are an amazing band. Muhammed Suicmez is an inhuman guitarist.
Just a question, are you new to the Technical Death Metal genre? Because, while you stated they are musically/technically miles ahead of everyone else, I could name quite alot of bands who are more technically/musically impressive.
If youve only heard the album The Stillborn One, you really should check out Epitaph.

new? no, im a guitarist myself and all i really like is the technical shtuff.
yeah i have both cd's. Wintersun is killer too, they are just a technical. maybe they arent ahead of everyone, but 99% of whats going on right now. personally, im a Mesh-head (meshuggah!) wohoo oh yeah, Nevermore! jeff loomis is god. the singing gets old tho

Fair enough. What other Technical Death Metal bands do you listen to? When I was new to the genre, Necrophagist were the band who got me into Tech DM, but I came to realise it's a pretty huge genre with better and more technical bands.
Indeed Wintersun are killer, but I wouldnt say they are technically on par with Necrophagist, but the music is quite Technical to an extent, and I cant wait fot the new Wintersun album.
Id agree theyre ahead of most of whats going on right now, especially in mainstream Metal, but in the wide world of underground Metal, there are quite a few better bands.

hmm, i really like Fear Factory, mostly Demanufacture. Dino is the a killler rhythm guitarist. Nevermore, Death, Mnemic, bodom, cryptopsy, byzantine kicks ass too, but they are more of a chugga chugga odd rhythm kinda thing. too many bands to list really. lol. and of course, my band! (shameless plug!)

Lol, Fear Factory are far from Technical, but have done their fair share of decent songs.
Death and Cryptopsy, to an extent, are Technical Death Metal, and probably two of my all time favourite band's.
Nevermore, Mnemic, CoB and Byzantine I personally wouldnt consider Technical, but I really enjoy all these bands (Only Bodom's debut album and Hatebreeder). But its nice to see some people into the Tech DM genre.

haha , fear fctory arent technical for sure...but you cant deny the badass factor in dinos riffs, the new fear factory sucks, really, they kinda went pop-ish. damn christian! have you heard asesino new stuff? pretty cool. you wouldnt consider nevermore technical? there are few people that have those kind of rediculous chops man! rofl my drummer got me into necrophagist and wintersun and some other bands, i was blown away. if you want you can check out some of our stuff (my band) and tell me what you thinks. we're no necrophagist, and dont really want to be, we are more into wierd grooves and the solos, jazz-fusion style.

thats my newest song. its different from what i usually do. i tried to go for a more melodic approach. and i kinda went off the deep end for the leads. i was drunk and in an improv mood. rofl

Your song was pretty decent, has some nice riffage in there, but it did drag on for a while. It was hard to hear the solo, so i cant really judge that. With some vocal's, that would be a pretty cool song.

Wintersun, technical? but yeah, Necrophagist is great, especially Onset of Putrefaction

September 27, 2006 3:17:31 PM UTC Post #10

yeah it does kinda drag without vox on it. this is a rough draft tho, and i plan on making some changes. got any pointers for me? what ya think of patriks stuff?
