New Amp

Posts: 221 Member #: 15,143 Joined: 09/16/2009	Ok I am looking for a new amp to go along with my new pickups. I have the DiMarzio X2N and PAF Pro. Should I get a Peavy or a Roland, tube or solid. I have about 800 USD(about 600 euros, 900 CAD, 1000 AUD I think) to spend. I play metal and such.

Posts: 659 Member #: 12,980 Joined: 09/16/2009	Its really, really much better if you play some amps. But 800 USD will get you a nice used Peavey, or maybe even an older mEsa. Definately go tube, I don't know why you should do anytihng else

Peavey XXX, Peavey JSX or a Peavey 6505 (5150) the xxx & jsx have great distortion & great cleans... the 6505 & the 5150 have great distortion as well, but lack greatly in the clean department... i bought a triple xxx & have been very happy with it since...
