yeah, man, and this is coming from the guy who said,"Personally, I think that Hot Topic is just a big trend",quote by Asphyxiated in the reversible beanie thread.you really do shut your eyes to your own shortcomings don't you? anyway,it's too bad that we're no longer in PR. otherwise,i'd get it in an instant...guess i'll just have to send my cousin some money and ask him to get it for me.

I DO think hot topic is a big trend but as I said in this thread, they do have some decent stuff in there every now and then. The main reason that place is still around though is because it gives the people who follow less popular trends clothes to wear. 90% of the stuff in hot topic, to me, is a waste of fabric.

One thing to note about Hot Topic is that the USA is a massive country and there are a lot of kids that don't live in urban centers (or the immediate suburbs of) urban city areas w/ loads of independant places to buy records and band merchandise. For some kids - a majority - the only game in town with anything remotely metal is the local mall with the Hot Topic and Spencers retail chains inside.
Wherever you view the store on the "cool" meter is up to you - but it does play in important role in spreading the word about heavy music.
You should also know that heavy metal merchandise is the highest seller at the chain (Maiden, Metallica, Slayer etc.) over punk and emo by a landslide.
And that is a good thing for metal music.
