QUOTE(Venom @ Dec 29 2006, 03:52 PM) i have a gibson les paul that u got a discount on from £1.200 to £500 cos the guy used to teach me guitar owns the shop and apparently there was a chip on it, but i cant see the bugger
so when i got this i played both using different techniques and shredding is so much easier on the ibanez then on the gibson dont know why
It's the necks. Gibsons have big old fat necks, whereas Ibanezes and Jacksons both are built for speed. But Gibsons are built for reliability and warmth in their tone.

For only £50-60 more, you can get an Ibanez RG370DX, which has a proper double locking trem, pretty good pickups and a proper Ibanez logo. It's better to spend a little bit more to get a guitar you'll keep for years than one you'll grow out of quite quickly and want to replace. And as a proud owner of a couple of RGs (a 2001 470 and 2005 370) I've never wanted anything else!

I have one of these. They play pretty nice for the price, but you can't really go wrong with Ibanez anyway.
On a similar note, I'm getting an S470 for Christmas

Theres a hardtail RG for about the same price, kicks the shit out of that guitar.

That RG Is definetyl worth the money, i made the purchase about a day ago, i played for about 12 hours when i got it, its a true fucking piece of art that guitar, and the double locking trem, strings NEVER Go out of tune, even when you abuse your trem bar like im tempted to do every now and then

Most Ibanez's use the Wizard II neck, its great for smooth fast playing, not to thick and not thin.
