I see what you mean. Matt is really far up Hetfield's ass.

I think they need to be more concerned about sounding like theirselves instead of trying to sound like Metallica or attempt to try to sound like them.

hes obviously kidding. they really look up the band and he has a sense of humor. verbally they may seem liek they are worshipping metalica, but you dont see them hiding in metallica restroom or anyhting like that. <---thats pathetic, but saying it isnt.

HAHHA, thats awesome.

Wow, this is quite a dumb thread. Why? Because you haven't heard much new material, and it IS Trivium, not metallica 2 as you put it. People posting threads like this are walking a thin line, and that line will disappear and you'll drop off this forum when my patience is gone. Now stfu and wait for the crusade or go bitch somewhere else.
Carnage, don't be an ass.

He has a right to an opinion and it's not like he's bashing the band in general; just the style.

QUOTE(Carnage)and Paolo, stop singing  :D
Paolo has a great singing voice honestly Gus. I don't see why THAT post was needed in a thread that specifically says "Not To Bash The Band.. But"
You're a moderator on the boards, and that should be a priveledge, not a right, you should treat the band members and their decisions with more respect.

they've all loved metallica since they were really young. but they weren't in the press for the past 8 years. just like every other metal kid.
the media is trying to spin this metallica obsession to draw attention. is metallica one of their greatest influences? yes. but it is to millions of people, they just aren't being interviewed and scrutinized with every word. i've sat through countless interviews, and each one, what guys actually say and what ends up in the magazine is exageratted and blown up. as with every band. and the same interview is repeated in tons of magazines, so it seems like it's everywhere.
i think everyone is really blowing this metallica thing out of proportion. they could say it once and it will show up thousands of places. so they wear their influences on their sleeves.. its' more respectable than acting like your sound came from nowhere.

Well, this thread is turning into a beautiful little firepit of sorts.
To focus on the quote, I think that's really the wrong way to think about a new Metallica album. It's the blind purchasing of the album without regards to quality that allows Metallica to continue to release garbage that sells tons of copies.

He's not saying that Metallica could go and "record" a piece of shit, he said "Touch" a piece of shit.
Basically, he's just joking around.

When the crusade comes, people will see.
Maybe there will be some metallica like parts, maybe there will be some queen like parts, but unless hetfield and co are actually playing on this album, its trivium, not metallica.
