Catastrophic have some quite Obituary-esque riffs to them too... but then they are Trevor Peres' band

Peres is a great rythme guitarist.

That he is... and thankfully he actually wears t-shirts that fit him properly these days too

But what's with the beard man .

November 25, 2006 5:43:03 AM UTC Post #35

Nothing wrong with beards! I possess a mighty Johan Hegg-esque effort (which I'm trying to grow to a Paul Speckmann sized length) myself 8)

Meh, he looked totally fucking hot back then, when he was the sunken cheeked muscular motherfucker.
The beard just ruined that.

EDIT: Oh and Matt, here's the Asphyx song: http://media.putfile.com/Asphyx---Serenade-In-Lead

QUOTE(Grimfurg the Mighty)Well, it's not really about the vocals. It's pretty much more about the fast riffing, and bloody awsome solos (that I like). And the thrash beats on drums that you see often in thrash metal.
I'll upload you an Asphyx song. Martin Van Drunen played in Asphyx, he was also the Pestilence vocalist. But Drunnen sounds kinda like Tardy on Asphyx, so I guess you'll like it.
But you haven't heard anything from Death, in like "Leprosy" or "scream Bloody Gore"?
Leprosy is more attached to the genre.
I've heard those Death albums. Love em. Just didnt notice the similarties to Obituary. Heh!
^ thanks for that upload m'good man.. I'll listen when Im on a PC with speakers.
