QUOTE(stealthshadow @ Dec 6 2008, 01:53 PM) wouldn't be too sure. He's been playing for less than 2 years and dude he's fast. Told him lots of times to stand up.. but nah he ain't followin, but this time he will now that we're playin a duet.
Even if he's the world's greatest guitarist he should still really stand up to play, it just kind of looks unprofessional to play metal sat down. If he finds it harder to play stood up then tell him to put his foot on a monitor and rest his guitar on his leg or something, even if it means having his guitar strap really high it still looks better than sitting down.
QUOTE(stealthshadow @ Dec 6 2008, 01:53 PM) he asked if we should bang our heads everywhere and all those guitar stunts. Leave it up to you guy to answer that. Btw our audience isn't really a "worthy" one. people who mostly don't appreciate GREATNESS in METAL
You shouldn't do anything that feels unnatural because it will look unnatural and uncomfortable and you may lose your confidence which will hamper your playing... Just have fun with it, do what feels right, headbang if you want but only if you're sure you can do it whilst still playing properly. At the end of the day you're probably doing this to be graded or something so make sure you can play the piece fluidly and accurately before you even attempt anything else.

Oh do what ever when you get on stage. Tell him to stand up. And whats the name of your band or anything? Im curious haha.

December 09, 2008 7:46:07 AM UTC Post #13

Yeah thanks guys. I'll relay all those to him. DIRECTLY
Band name?? uh actually we had one but we're still deciding on it. He suggested "blackened white' but i think it just doesn't sound right to me. I'd fancy "redemption" how bout some latin words like "impirius caleum". Yeah i did all that research for those latin stuff.
Anyways is standing tall and still enough for him? I lower myself when playing. will look better on stage if I do

It doesnt matter how you look on stage. Lose the chairs and just rock out.

Jason Suecof is a prime example in showing that, you don't need working legs to be an amazing musician.
