Picking tips, anyone?

Posts: 112 Member #: 16,629 Joined: 09/16/2009	I've been practicing the song 'rain' this week but when it comes to switching between palm muting im in trouble (which i wouldn't say is a good hting in this song) so can anyone please help me out by telling me good ways to hold my pick and what posistion to have my hand in? Thanks.

Posts: 112 Member #: 16,629 Joined: 09/16/2009	yeah, not nessasarily the pick actually, im sort of okay with most songs, just the hand posistion coz when i palm mute i have to,like, sort of tilt my hand n on videos ive seen people barely moving their hands when palm muting.

Thanks. there are clips on youtube where corey and matt show how to play their songs just look around here to find em, on of the vids is on rain...look at their piccking closely p.s. bits of rain are posted in diff vids including the solo so u'll have to search...to begin i suggest look for a link to youtube in the trivium media exchange section and look around..hope that helps :twisted:

Posts: 112 Member #: 16,629 Joined: 09/16/2009	thanks a lot but i already got a guitar world video of rain in my favourites but they dont play the whole song, they show the intro, that bit just after the intro, the chorus and that interlude thingy to ascendancy.

Posts: 1718 Member #: 15,537 Joined: 09/16/2009	Palm muting is palm muting...you won't just learn how to palm mute straight away, it takes time at getting better at then soon you can switch between palm muting and normal picking easily and fast.
