the tone is better than most things i hear these days but the playing is really sloppy. start slow and work up to speed

Im using an Ibanez rgt42dx into a vox somethingorother through a microphone i found lying around..

And I know it's uber sloppy, but it wasn't done with any real concentration. I'll post a more improved version when i get my X2N.

I suggest getting an Sm-57 instrument mic. You're recording tone will increase by 10 fold. It's not bad the way you have it now. Sounds like there's a little bit of reverb on it.

Doesn't sound bad in terms of the frequencies, theres not alot of gain (which is a good thing, epscially these days ). The tone itself need smore attack. The X2N will fix that up right good . Almost has a gilbert esque tone. Very low on gain, and quite punchy. The playings pretty sloppy. Its a little dark sounding, could through on some more presence (if you have that on your amp). its basically like trebl shapping. Instead of just putting more treble, do mroe rpesence.

Yeah, I don't have a prescence thingy.. I'll bang my x2n in when i get it and see what that does to it. Btw, got it for like £30 new from america, well happy!!!

I'll have a look into getting a shure, i've always heard great things about them but never really looked into them..
