Question on Vocals...
September 16, 2009 1:56:10 AM UTC Post #1

Ok so my metal band, Thirteenth Order just decided that I will sing for them since we had no luck finding a good singer.
So I made this recording... It seems like the vocals get better as the song progresses...
I know its not great (the vocals, i mean) so how could I improve?
Also keep in mind I'm fifteen and my voice isn't done changing.
www.myspace.com/thirteenthorder ------> Click on "Saving My Mind"... the other song doesnt have vocals. Any other comments relating to anything else on the site appreciated as well.
Thanks

The vocals aren't bad, you won't come into your own until your voice breaks, like MAdden said. But work on your guitar tone!
AHH!!
So much messy fuzz . Turn the gain back a bit.

On the guitar tone | yeah, the dude who recorded us wanted us to plug straight into his mixer. I didn't like the tone either. I wanted to mic the amps, but he insisted on plugging into the mixer. And that made it impossible to get the tone I wanted. :?

The song without vocals > The song with vocals.

Yeah, the song that we put the vocals on was our first song.
And the song that there is no vocals on right now is one of our most recent songs.
Or are you just saying its better simply because there are no vocals? Lol.

Not that. Just the one without vocals sounds generally better.

Lol. Thanks man. We're doing a show on the 15th and someone is supposed to filming it so, I'll post some videos of the show when I get em.
