what are the red boxes and blue X's ,under the username , and why are some people called administrators (what do they do)

n00b!
The Administrators are the people who run the board. They have the power to ban people and they can edit your avatar.signature if they deem it offensive (ask Carnage).
Below them are the Moderators who are like the policemen. They can delete/edit your posts and delete/lock threads. The Moderators are those who have the blue Xs under their usernames.
The red boxes are for ordinary members. The more boxes there are, the more posts that member has posted.
