QUOTEDeath penalty for Saddam Hussein
Former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has been convicted of crimes against humanity by a Baghdad court and sentenced to death by hanging.
He was found guilty over his role in the killing of 148 people in the mainly Shia town of Dujail in 1982.
His co-defendant former judge Awad Hamed al-Bander was also sentenced to death. Former vice-president Taha Yassin Ramadan got life in jail.
Three others received 15 year prison terms, another official was acquitted.

I dis-agree with the judgement.
By sentancing him to Death he's being let off. He should be tortured for the rest of his life.

I was thinking they'd have him around prison for a while, just so they can say "Yeah, we've got Saddam Hussein.". They must've got bored of that and now want to say "Yeah, we killed Saddam Hussein motherfucker."

by torturing him for the rest of his life you are wasting millions of tax payer dollars that could be put to better use on a lot of other things
let the scumbag hang

I don't think he should be tortured for the rest of his life - thats stooping down to his level - but I think that being locked up for life in a high security prison with no chance of ever being released is a worse punishment than hanging.
Though there is no way that he'd ever last the full sentence in an Iraqi prison without being broken out, so death is a more realistic sentence.

Exactly what I thought. While I would like to see the bastard being tortured, I'll just have to make do with the fact he'll be hanging from a rope instead.
Any dates yet?

I don't agree with this, but for different reasons. The death sentence is a barbaric exercise, that epitomises the failings of 21st century "justice". It's simply a relic from a bygone age that the masses can use as an outlet for their superimposed hatred of an individual.
Saying that, I hope they televise it.
