Seven String Drop D Inversion Power Chord
April 17, 2010 10:00:00 AM UTC Post #1

HI everyone,
I have a seven string and i am also in a band, composing some stuff; I like drop tunings for the wider variety of power chords and 3rd chords with root notes directly below, etc. anyway to the point, I like drop A for some clean stuff but i find it a bit to inaudible for heavy riffs, so i like drop d for that, i had an idea of putting my seven string into drop d for the normal 6 strings, and then making the 7th string a 3rd or 4th below to make the 3 bottom strings have an inversion power chord when barred like in a normal drop tuning, but I've tried and I'm not exactly sure if its a 3rd or 4th(a power chord is a 5th then a 4th isn't it?) so if you find this interesting and want to help, please reply, thanks in advance :D
P.S. the sweeping in the crusade is insane XD i cant play it at all !!
also im only putting in a poll because i never haveXD sounds like fun

EDIT
ehh no one has read this yet so ill just say i think the 5th between the D and the A has messed up possibility of the inversion chord still not sure though, with a G on the bottom i managed a 5add9 chord .... oh well

impossible
4th below the bottom D
That's stupid
3rd below the bottom D
