Since the band knows i heard the song during their soundcheck, Matt told me to get on the forum and tell people how epic the song is. Im not trying to sound like a cocky douche about hearing it already but just want everyone to know how freaking great it is.

As everyone knows the new song off the God Of War 3 soundtrack "Shattering The Skies Above" has not been recorded yet, in fact Matt told me that the song isnt 100% complete but i did get to hear what they have so far (and also told me that we were the first people besides their crew to hear the song). I was at their concert last night (December 4th) in Saget, IL. and since it was a 24 hour bar My two friends and I sat inside for about 5 hours and watched everything get set up and seen Trivium do their soundcheck. They stared playing a song i never heard before and then Matt started to sing the chorus and i straight about crapped my pants because i never would have dreamed to hear the song until the game came out. This song fits God of War perfectly and for anyone who has played God of War and knows the background can directly relate the song(or what i heard, especially the chorus) to the game. I know for a fact everyone will love the song and since they said that song will give a representation of where the new album will be, its going to be just like Matt promised, their best so far.

I heard them play the same part about 4 or 5 times before they recorded what they have written (i heard matt tell paolo "are you ready to record?") so i assume they recorded just to hear how it sounds and change stuff if needed. I wish i can put the lyrics up since i remember the chorus but since they havnt released anything more than what ive said, out of my Respect and love for the band im not going to put the lyrics up.

I really hope Matt and Corey (I talked to Matt the most about it and alittle about it with Corey) will post on this thread and maybe talk about it a little more but until then i dont want to reveal anything they dont want to be revaled at this moment.

We recorded a demo for the game people to hear. We are still getting used to playing it and getting the parts (musically and vocally set.) The riffs and structure are 99% set for what the song will sound like.

Personally i hope we're finally going to hear the cover of Eleanor Rigby
As for the older song getting rerecorded, i guess it will be something from ETI, my favourite from that album is Fugue but just looking forward to hearing anything!
