why dont trivium play songs from shogun other then kirisute gomen, throes, insurrection, down from the sky, into the mouth of hell we march?
i think Torn Between Scylla And charybdis Is going to be excellent live
and the solo section of "Of Prometheus and the Crucifix" would be kickass live
something reminds of gunshot solo which is cool
and maybe they can play shogun track too as an ending song
i would also like to hear the bonus songs of shogun live
well maybe they have some plans but just like when the crusade came out i was hoping they play the crusade song live just like when metallica plays orion or something that would be awesome
and my point here is not that they should play whole shogun album in thier shows live
but variety of shogun songs in each show would be good

Well they're goign to be touring for a quite a while for this album so wouldn't really make sence to play it all straight away... they've got lots of time to play everything and when they're adding songs to the setlist on new tours and stuff it makes the songs more special instead of playing the same stuff all the time.

There's a thing called singles that you have to push, and the band decides what they are going to play, before they start the tour, and make changes if necessary. For only playing the 30 minutes or whatever it was on the Slipknot tour, they have to decide on a few songs, that means they have to play the ones people are expecting, as well as new stuff to promote the new album. That's how playing shows works. When you do a headlining tour it's a bit different, but you have to play the songs people are expecting, the pull harder, llttf, gunshot, a couple of old ones to make old fans happy, that leaves them with roughly 7 or 8 songs that can rotate, which means they'll play some on one tour, and others on another.
Playing shogun live would be kinda bland, especially as an ending track. You want to go out with a bang, not an 11 minute progressive tune. Pull harder has basically secured itself as their closing track, I doubt will change ever, if it does it will be briefly. The crusade is a pretty nuts track, I don't know if the guys have thought about putting that in the set list, obviously the couldn't do the whole thing, but it'd be cool if they made a medley of it for a headlining set.

Most bands don't change their setlists between shows, it's too hard to remember the songs, solos and all that when you change songs show to show. Triviums set lists change between tours depending on their set length.

To the OP: I don't know if you're a guitarist or not but if you were, you'd understand remembering solos isn't an easy thing! Torn Between, The Calamity, and indeed most of the tracks on Shogun have extremely difficult solos Hearing it live would kickass, but it's very difficult to change songs in between sets (i.e play one setlist in place x, then another set of different songs in place y) and so forth, and so forth) because of the difficult solos, vocals, and lyrics too!
I too hope they play some different stuff during their next tour! A few different Shogun tracks, and some old Ember To Inferno would kick major ass.
