QUOTE(Glenn)My music man as the normal John Petrucci DiMarzios, No DSonic. I'm glad because I NEVER drop D. And try one of these guitars as soon as possible, they're amazing.
Cool stuff then. Should save you a world of hurt, apparently. I think he used the D sonic for some of the down tuned and baritone stuff. Like "These Walls" if I remeber corectly its somewheres down there on the more basslike sid eof the spectrum. I definately know why he uses the type of pickup he uses. When you tune down that low you start having problems getting a tight sound. I switche dmy stock pup out with an X2N, and oooo does it sound TIGHT, aggressive, and focussed. Think of like a crack-whore whos been without a fix for a week, and then gets locke din a room full of heroin. Its one big explosion.

QUOTEHmmm, well imagine a Iced Earth/Iron Maiden sound with Kamelot style singing (Not as smooth though) with the use of the middle eastern scale in a lot of the riffs.
Harmonic minor type thing eh? Every sweet band uses that. Or the gypsy scale. Thats a sweet one too.

Nice, I like were this is going. Just as a suggestion, you know what would what could be good to add there? A nice splash of King Diamond's Abigail album. You know this kind of old guitar sound you can hear on "A Mansion in Darkness". Just a suggestion.
