i saw the thread on the poor guy passing away at the slipknot show and thought i might share with you the experience i had in dec 08.
went to the Newcastle arena with my mate and it was a fuking awsome gig COB played and went Machine head played and went.  Slipknot came on and the whole front of the floor (1000 people) started pushing forward which crammed me in like shit.  i could not reach into my pockets or anything :(  then about 3 songs into their show everyone started jumping and with it being so packed in i was basically jumping with the crowd and i could not stop because i would be crushed every time they came down.  So my only option was to jump!
as i was doing this i felt a weird fuking prick in my foot and low and behold .....
"a needle" :(
it fell out and i was basically ready to pass out, we had no water the security were not paying any attention, the front was so packed i could not get over the barrier and i had to make it to the side of the arena which was the most scariest fuking thing ever when this happened, got the to medics they put a plaster on it  ??? :-\
i went to my docters and they have taken my blood last week for HIV and all the HEP's A,B,C.....  its the worst thing ever to happen to me, and even though the show was absolutely amazing.  its pretty much fucked me up  :'(
they said i should be ok as the % of catching any shit is low but to not consider it... so yeah  :o

Yeah as long as the needle wasn't used and only just dropped and your foot was the only thing it met, than you shouldn't get any HIV or Hep A,B, or C. So you should be good.
That definitely does suck though :(

I'm fairly sure the HIV virus can't survive very long when exposed to the air. Any way hopefully the needle wasn't used and you won't have caught anything. I doubt anyone would have used the needle during the gig.

Man this absolutely blows.  I don't know what the laws are like in England, but if that were to happen here in California and I coaught some type of disease/infection, I'd be suing somebody's ass!
